I wanted to bring some attention to the gallery when it opened in 2014. So I asked an artist to paint the shutters next door. He suggested that he would paint a flamingo. That flamingo made me make a connection to the life of John James Audubon. Next I spoke to my artist and friend Tom Sanford, who said we should do a tribute to John James Audubon. Tom made a connection to his friend who worked at the National Audubon Society. We then conceived this idea of painting 314 birds from the Audubon Bird and Climate Change report. There was no grand plan but we were off to the races.

A metric knob usually has a 6 mm hole, but the solid shaft on a U.S. pot measures .250" (6.35 mm), so the hole needs to be enlarged.

2014: Husqvarna, now owned by KTM and moved to Austria, did not import a TC125 two-stroke or FC350 four-stroke to the USA in 2014. That doesn’t mean that the company didn’t make a 2014 Husqvarna TC125—just that it didn’t import it to the USA. KTM had purchased Husqvarna in late 2013 and didn’t have time to come out with a complete fleet of new models for 2014. So, they just gussied up the existing KTMs in white plastic to get the Husky ball rolling. They decided to focus on the TC250 two-stroke and FC250/FC450 four-strokes for U.S. consumers.

Lund says wall thicknesses of some toy parts are also becoming thinner today. “We look at products designed years ago and are shocked to see how they were overbuilt and used far more plastic than was needed,” he explains.

2. Greed as creed. Going beyond meeting basic needs, advertising now promotes consumption and possession of objects and services as legitimate self-indulgence and expressions of success, thus stoking instant gratification as an abiding value.

Cinema art has two distinct types of artists; the banner painters who paint canvases – large enough to cover the theatre frontage, usually in makeshift studios at the back of the cinema theatre; and the more refined poster painters who work in small, office-like studios.
