The dissent held that the claims were preempted and pointed out significant issues with the majority’s decision. We selected each test rider’s optimum air pressure by placing an O-ring (or zip-tie) on the right fork leg. Then we had them ride a few laps with the stock air pressure. When they came in, we looked at how much travel they were using and raised or lowered the air pressure to get them within 1 inch of full travel. From that point on, we relied on the compression clicker to fine-tune the stroke. We went out on the compression until it stroked through too quickly and then went back in a few clicks. We loved that we could just pull over and adjust the compression by hand. The rebound, however, is on the bottom of the fork and is adjusted by a flat-bladed screwdriver.

(3) Unplug the secret wire. Unlike the KTM four-strokes, the KTM two-strokes do not come with an adjustable map switch; but, what few people know is that they do have two maps. The stock map is the aggressive map, and it comes installed in the bike. There is a mellow map, but it is hidden under the gas tank. Look under the tank, just in front of the cylinder head, and you will see a wire hanging down with a white male/female connector. If you unplug that connector, you will activate the mellow map.
